Toyota Prius battery

It’s hard to believe that the Toyota Prius has already been on the market for more than 20 years and it’s still going strong as one of the most popular and reliable hybrid vehicles out there. While the Prius is a highly efficiency feat of engineering, it is of course, not perfect. Components can break and require (expensive) replacing jobs. The same can be said for the Toyota Prius battery, which is one of the most important parts that you’ll have to replace.

A Prius battery will not have to be replaced too often, of course. Most of them have warranties of more than 10 years, and depending on your style of driving and the types of roads you drive on, their lifespan can be increased even further.

Depending on whether you get a Prius Prime or Gen 2, as well as depending on other factors such as the place you live in and the dealership you choose, prices can vary from about $2,200 on the lower end to more than $4,000 for a new Toyota Prius battery replacement. Also, even though the total time to have the battery replaced will not take more than 3-4 hours, the labor costs can be quite extensive as well.

The best way to balance all the costs and get a reliable battery as well is to research a good quality refurbished battery which costs about $1,500, and pay the best mechanics to make sure your battery is installed properly.
